The moment king Solomon had the revelation of Heaven and the greatness of that Kingdom,he was humbled.He had thought there was no better kingdom than his.Instantly,his own kingdom became nothing to him.Do you know what happened? He turned a preacher!Hence he wrote the books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.Imagine a king telling us,'' I 'was' a king in Jerusalem!''
King Solomon happened to be the most beloved of both God and his father David.That young man grew up in great affluence.His father had fought all the battles.Made all the money for his lineage.Solomon did not fight for anything.Even the throne was given to him through the help of his mother Bathsheba who reminded king David of his promise.The guy was a spoilt child.
He had enjoyed the best of everything.He had the greatest wisdom.He had many cars( horses).He enjoyed great power and authority.He was the most dressed king.He married seven hundred 'beautiful' daughters of kings! He lived in a house of gold,etc.Yet,he was not satisfied.He longed for a long lasting satisfaction.He needed peace and joy which only God can give.Imagine! Upon all that the guy had enjoyed,he still had the need for HEAVEN!!
